The Artist’s Story

Alysa Marie Diebolt is a fused glass artist who is currently a junior at Northern Michigan University pursuing a degree in marketing. Expected graduation, May 2011.

Following a tour of the Spectrum Glass factory in Woodinville, Washington in 2003 where her tour guide, a glass fuser, peaked her interest in fused glass art. After many catastrophes in the kiln, she is now able to truly express herself through her glass art work. That was just five years ago, now fused glass is a huge growing passion in her life.

Alysa hopes to own art galleries across the country and sell her work as well as the work of young artists as a way to encourage and help them get started.

On average, Alysa attends at least 15 art sales and craft venues every year. She spends her entire summer on the road traveling throughout Michigan and Wisconsin with her parents.

Alysa's father, Jeff, is also a glass artist. He has been doing stained glass for over ten years. Together they form Northern Art Glass. His website www.northernartglass.biz/ offers a photo gallery showing some of his pieces and a list of contact information for any specific stained glass questions or inquiries.

She loves ice climbing in Munising every winter, being at the beach with friends in the summer, traveling to new places, as well as listening to an eclectic range of music, reading great books, cooking amazing meals for friends and family, and decorating and redecorating the house.
